DR. Frank Clayton

While attending veterinarian school in Oklahoma Dr. Clayton came home for a break and did some hang-gliding at the "Point of the Mountain".  He had a great time and was about to call it a day when a beginner pilot flew in front of him and he stalled out. He fell about forty feet and had some wind resistance from his folded wings. As he laid there in a heap on the mountain side he could not move his feet or feel them.   He laid there in an arched position until help came a few moments later.   His good intentioned rescuers unhooked him from his cables and he fell to the ground and his back flattened out. He felt the life come back into his body with this motion. Eventually he drove himself to the Cottonwood hospital and was examined. X-rays were taken and no fractures were present. For the next three weeks he was tormented with low back pain.  He literally had to crawl to move about the house. He was examined by several medical doctors and even got scheduled for exploratory back surgery. This is when his father said he should go to a chiropractor and see if he could be helped before his surgery. He choose to go to Dr. McGinn and in three days he had Dr. Clayton walking, two weeks and he was out of pain.

Dr. Clayton went to Logan College of Chiropractic in 1982, and has been practicing chiropractic in Ogden Utah for the last 30 years.

Chiropractic was always been a part Dr. Clayton’s life.  His first adjustment was as an infant while his father was in chiropractic school.  Although he felt the benefits of chiropractic care his whole life, the turning point for deciding to become a chiropractor was at the age of 25 when he started to get really bad sore throats.   Dr. Clayton would get 2-3 a month and each time they would last 5-7 days.  He went to many medical Doctors who only offered pain medication and even antibiotics once after admitting he just had a virus.  They never gave him an explanation of why he was getting so many sore throats or what he could do to stop getting them.  After a year and a half of dealing with constant sore throats he was complaining to his dad and he said, “come up to the office and let’s get you feeling better”.  Even though he have received chiropractic care his entire life he never thought about having a chiropractor look at his sore throat.  His father took a history and looked in his throat and agreed with the medical doctors that he had a virus.  Then his father took a whole body approach to determine why his immune system was allowing this to happen.  His father recommended he take some Standard Process (whole food) supplements to boost my immune system.  Then he adjusted his neck which can help speed up body’s ability to heal itself.  A week later his sore throats were gone and never came back.  Since then he has only had 2 sore throats.

After that experience Dr. Clayton decided being a chiropractor would give him the opportunity to help people with all different types of health problems.  Although as a chiropractor he specializes in treating headaches, migraines, backaches, disc herniations, sciatica, whiplash, pregnancy, fibromyalgia, shoulder pain, knee pain, and wrist pain he is excited take a look at his patient’s entire health and help where he can.

Dr. Jeffery Frank Clayton graduated from the Weber state University in 2005 with a BA in communications and in 2012 from the University of Western State with a BS in human anatomy and a D.C.  During his training Dr. Clayton learned the Graston technique, sports medicine, and did his residency at Core Elements Chiropractic where he focused on Pediatrics and Pregnancy related pain.
